Carolee, Jake and I were able to have a great time this weekend and get outside thanks to the “spring teaser” as I call it. Sunday was unseasonably warm so we took a drive up to New Hope for the day. I almost forgot how cool that town was. We shopped all the stores, took a walk on the Lambertville bridge, had wine tasting, tested hot sauce, tried different things covered in chocolate, browsed a witch store, Carolee and jake had their palms read, had an awesome lunch (best crab cake Carolee ever had!), and that’s just some of the things 🙂 The evening before, we got to take Jake out to his first real formal dinner with us. It was great! We went to Bella Tori and had a wonderful meal. I had the lamb chops, Carolee had the mussels and Jake had the lobster ravioli special. It was nice that Jake was able to go out to a nice restaurant with us and we look forward to doing it more!

Jake’s HR in Championship Game for Spring Tune-Up Tournament

Spring Tune-Up Tournament March 23-27th. Crazy weekend with cold weather….Jake hit two HRs in 5 games. Couldn’t be more proud of my boy and his teammates!!
End of summer 2012
What a great Labor Day weekend we had. We spent Saturday and Sunday at the lake. On Saturday our friends Brian and Mikki came down. On Sunday we had the whole family down. On Monday we kicked back in front of the TV all day and then had a home cooked crab cake dinner.
Jake’s Love For Baseball
It’s just a wonderful thing how much Jake enjoys his baseball. Monday night, 6/4/12, was awesome! He pitched a solid 2 innings and then gave the ball to Josh who pitched well. Then, the drama started with danny trying to close out the game…..soooo much fun and I’m sure he’ll remember this stuff forever. He told me today that his dream is to win a championship at the District level. I will most certainly do whatever is in my power to give him every opportunity to do so….He deserves it! Love ya dude.
39th Birthday
What a great 39th birthday weekend I had. Carolee and I went to Red Bank, NJ to see a Get The Led Out concert. Jake stayed with Stacy. My weekend started off great. Carolee and Jake surprised me at the door with a b-day cake on Friday afternoon. After I took Jake to Stacy’s that evening, Carolee and I went to Parx and had an awesome time. We ran in to her friend at Chickie’s and Pete’s while we watched the Sixers make a great comeback in game 4 of their series with the Celtics. Saturday we got to Red Bank and put our boat in the water (at the best marina in town…HA!). We cut up some “bunker” and tried to catch some bluefish. Not so much. Sat night was incredible. We ate at Monticello’s (the pork chop was the winner) and then hit the concert. They even played Carolee’s favorite song. Side note for the evening, I thought it was so damn funny when the lead singer announced that we had a birthday in the house. I totally thought it was for me (thinking in the back of mind, how the hell did Carolee pull this one off) and went to get up out of my chair. Comical. Had the best pancakes in the universe at Broadway Diner and then hit the Delaware river and Penn Warner for some more fishing. Now I’m looking for some sleep…..I wish my birthday always fell on a weekend! Thanks to my family for a great weekend. Carolee, Jake, Stacy, Chris, Debbie, Tony, Mom, Kerri made it all possible. I love ya. Can’t wait until my 40th in Atlantic City…..at least that’s the plan for now!
Always remember, Jake Oberholtzer, you can do anything you put your mind to.
The summer of 2011 was an awesome one with plenty of things to remember. One glaring memory for me is Jake swimming across the creek at the Motel in North Carolina. Jake had become friends with this girl about 2 years older than him, she and some of her friends would jump in the creek and swim to the other side so they could jump off one of the big rocks. Well, after debating if I should let him, I figured what the heck he’s a good swimmer (and I was right there anyway). He jumps in to this gleaming mountain creek and starts swimming. My heart drops as I notice he is actually swimming diagonally instead of vertically across the creek. This is because the water was rushing a bit more than I thought not because he was just a crooked swimmer! Instead of panicking and potentially embarrassing him in front of his new found friend, I let his determination kick in. He swam his little mighty ass across that creek like he had done it 50 times before. Leave it to me to burst his bubble though because once he got over I wouldn’t let him jump off the rock! Ha. Either way, just a reminder to my son to always stick it out and never look back. You can do anything you put your mind to (even if there isn’t a girl involved)!
Indian Summer in Ocean City, NJ
Wow, is an easy word to describe our short weekend in OC. We went down the second weekend in October 2011 for Ryan’s b-day party. What a surprise mini vacation we had. So many things we did and so many memories to share forever. Arcade, the beach, crabs, boardwalk, football, baseball, funnel cake, crab legs, etc…
Knoebels 2011
